Small Changes For A Healthier 2018

People prefer huge, sweeping changes in the new year, or whenever they feel something needs fixing, but tend to forget that it’s actually the little things we tweak that end up making the longest-lasting alterations. The best thing about smaller changes is that they are also far easier to integrate into your existing routine, and don’t overwhelm you, which means that you are not as likely to abandon them.

One Simple Rule for Diet 

If you struggle to stick to a diet, try implementing just one rule. This could be no carbohydrates after 6pm, no sugar on Mondays, or a cup of green tea to start your day. You can choose one that would be the most beneficial, as well as not too hard to work into your current routine.

Keep Eye Strain at Bay

You can use the 20-20-20 rule to reduce eye strain. Every 20 minutes, focus your gaze on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This will also help you stay focussed, and will make you feel less tired when your day comes to an end as well. Scale Down on the Size of Your Plate

Use a smaller plate than you usually would when you are serving food. And wait at least twenty minutes before you refill your plate to see if you really need seconds once your brain has caught up with what your stomach is doing.

More Water, More Often

Drink a big glass of water before you eat. Drinking the amount of water that your body needs every day is vital in order to keep your system functioning smoothly, and it will also make sure you don’t overeat, as the body can confuse thirst and hunger quite easily. Doing this will make your meals that much more mindful, as well.
